D/C Fun Eventing Rally

GVPC sent two full teams to the "Fun" Eventing Rally this year in Olean, NY. There was a team of Ashley Stappenback, Greta and Madison Muxworthy scrambling with Hannah Hitchcock from East Aurora Pony Club. Paul Cripps, Kyle Hainsworth, Josef Thorne and Emily Gray had a great time at their first eventing rally with the help of their C advisor, Jessica Hainsworth. Faith Hainsworth rode in the D1 division which consisted of a dressage test and jumping course over groundpoles.

Personal bests were had by all. The older girls group successfully introduced their new horses to the eventing discipline. The team of newbies rode strong! Paul and Daisy faced bears (as reported by xc jump judge Amy) and maintained a canter in dressage. Kyle convinced Carson that xc could be fun through perseverance and hard work. Joe and Cinnamon are old pros in the open and when Cinnamon spied another pony ahead of her she thought she was back in the pony races handily overtaking her opponent. Emily competed on a brand new pony named Tick Tock and proved what a great match they are. Faith, the confident young lady that she is, cantered around the show jumping round.

The Payne family generously donated their land for this rally and did a great job. Thanks to them and Alley Cat Pony Club for all their hard work! A special thank you to our GVPC alums who volunteered as officials - Meghan Moran as the chief horse management judge and Kathleen Kirkwood as the technical delegate!

Regional D Camp

GVPC had 5 members attend the regional D camp this year at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Palmyra: Maddy Muxworthy, Paul Cripps, Kyle Hainsworth, Josef Thorne and Maggie Lloyd (counselor). Despite some torrential downpours, the kids had a great time, learned alot and made new friends. The above photo is of the drill team demonstration the kids did for the parents at the end of camp.
